Making A Difference

We received this letter today from Steve Elliot, President of the Grassfire Alliance:

I have an important update on a change in the delivery of your petitions to Rep. Walter Jones.

As you know, we were scheduled to deliver your petitions today (Thursday) at a major news conference on Capitol Hill to Rep. Jones and other members of Congress.

Late yesterday, Rep. Jones’ staff determined that it would be best to delay the press conference and delivery to early May. We expect to finalize those details in the coming week.

I spoke with Rep. Jones today and I can assure you that he is taking your petitions very seriously and is more committed than ever to getting the Secure Fence Act reinstated. He told me the key ingredient will be what you and I can do to apply grassroots pressure in the next 30 days.

In fact, we will be launching a focused grassroots effort on Monday with a specific goal that will help push this bill to the next step. Be watching for that update.

Thank you once again for signing our petition to Restore the Secure Fence Act, and for standing with Grassfire.
