A SENIOR GETS A REALITY CHECK IN JUST ONE WEEK

Last Sunday morning, Mother’s Day, 2007, I went to Walmart for the last time.

I went on Sunday morning to avoid the crowds thinking I would be able to get in and out in a hurry on my once-a-month stock-up shopping trip because I knew exactly where everything is. As a widow on Social Security it is important to me to shop where I can get the best prices.

I walked into the Walmart in Cordova, Tennessee and everything was rearranged. I didn’t know where to look. I thought, oh well, they are just “merchandising” but I soon learned that the items I had been buying for years were no longer in stock, replaced by “latino products,” even the soup section.

I walked all over that store amazed at what had happened in the past month and everywhere I went I heard Spanish NOT ENGLISH coming from other shoppers.

During the past 6 days I, a widow age 73 on Social Security, have also received 2 offers from Bank of America. They want to lend me $50,000.

There are still a few laughs left in this country but I believe the last laugh will be had by America’s middle class, AWAKE AT LAST!

Best wishes, Mary
